Ever since 1997, the Gratias Agit Award has been awarded by the Minister of Foreign Affairs for the promotion of the good name of the Czech Republic abroad in appreciation of prominent personalities and organizations developing activities in nongovernmental fields.

Based on the decision of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Lipavský, the 2024 Gratias Agit Award for spreading the good name of Czechia abroad was awarded to 10 personalities and 2 organizations, among them Gabriel C. Salvia, founding member and General Director of CADAL. The ceremony took place at the Czernin Palace, honoring the following laureates: Jana Beranová (Netherlands), poet, translator, activist for freedom of speech and artistic expression; Jana Fischerová (Ireland), university lecturer, promoter of Czech language, culture and history in Ireland; Helena Lehečková (Finland), philologist, neurolinguist, educator, book author and translator; Jacques Rupnik (France) political scientist and historian specializing in Central and Eastern Europe; George Edward Scott (United Kingdom), historian and writer, caring for the legacy of Czechoslovak war veterans, the award will be presented to him in November 2024 in London; Michael Paul Seng (USA), Professor of Constitutional Law and Legal Comparative Studies at John Marshall Law School; Alexander Speiser, in memoriam (Israel), Holocaust survivor, ICT entrepreneur, former chairman of the Israel-Czech Chamber of Commerce; Eva Urbanová (Czechia), renowned Czech soprano; Herbert Werner (Germany), first German co-director of the Czech-German Future Fund, former member of the Bundestag (CDU); Slovácký krúžok and Skaličané folklore group (Slovakia); and Tokyo University of International Studies (Japan).
Following the news of this Award, Gabriel Salvia published the book “Memory, human rights and international democratic solidarity” and gave a copy to the Czech Chancellor Jan Lipavský.
