Presentation of the book «País de Vinalón: Mi viaje a Corea del Norte» («The Country of Vinylon: My Trip to North Korea»)

Organized by the Institute of International Relations (IRI-UNLP) and the Observatory of Electoral Studies (OEEPI-UNLP), María de los Ángeles Lasa presented her book «País de Vinalón: Mi viaje a Corea del Norte» at Casa de la Universidad Nacional de La Plata (UNLP).

Sebastián López Calendino, Deputy Director of the Observatory of Electoral and Political-Institutional Studies of the Faculty of Legal and Social Sciences of the UNLP, gave the welcoming remarks and Dr. Bárbara Bavoleo, Academic Coordinator of the Center for Korean Studies of the Institute of International Relations of the UNLP, held a presentation and commented on the book.Presentación del libro “País de Vinalón: Mi viaje a Corea del Norte”

María de los Ángeles Lasa, the author, shared CADAL's mission and vision as an organization dedicated to the promotion of human rights and international democratic solidarity, described the writing process of “País de Vinalón: Mi viaje a Corea del Norte” and opened a space for questions to the audience.

María de los Ángeles Lasa holds a Licentiate Degree in International Relations from the Catholic University of Córdoba, a Master's Degree in Public Policy from the University of Oxford and a PhD in Political Science from the Università degli Studi di Camerino. She has worked in the Argentine public sector, in international organizations and for civil society organizations. She was Visiting Researcher at the University of Texas at Austin and at the Universidad de Los Andes, and Visiting Professor of State and Public Policy at the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella. She was a TEDx speaker at the Catholic University of Córdoba and at the National Library of Buenos Aires. She was a grantee of the Government of Italy, Fundación Carolina, Fulbright Commission, Erasmus+ and Chevening. She is an academic advisor of CADAL.
